Twelve-year-old Dylan’s talent for folding and flying paper planes takes him from his home in rural Australia to the bright lights of Tokyo in this charming film that will leave you cheering!
Life isn’t easy for Dylan. His mother died five months earlier, and because his father is overcome with grief, Dylan is left to fend for himself. Plus there’s the school bully to contend with. But things start improving when Dylan unexpectedly wins his school’s paper-plane contest.
Embracing his new passion, and with the help of his mischievous grandfather, Dylan makes his way to Sydney for the Australian championships. There he meets a new friend, Kimi, the Japanese junior champion, who helps him see that there are more important goals than winning. Can her advice help Dylan succeed at the world championships in Toyko?
Directed by one of Australia’s leading filmmakers Robert Connolly, the film is set in iconic locations, with engaging characters and a powerful story of friendship between two countries. It stars globally renowned cast including Sam Worhinginton (Avatar, Clash of the Titans) and Ed Oxenbould (Disney’s Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day).
